Professional Development Program – Preview

In leading Israeli universities and colleges, as well as in over 120 countries from “Chile to China”, EFL and EAP teachers are currently aligning their English courses with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and internationally recognized standards.

The free online Professional Development Program (PDP) offered here is designed to provide teachers with the knowledge, skills and resources needed to

• go beyond reading comprehension and integrate all four language skills in their EFL/EAP classrooms.
• implement the CEFR-aligned Framework for English in Higher Education in Israel.

The program includes new approaches and technology-based tools that will help students learn to effectively communicate in English and prepare them for the 21st century globalized workplace.

The program has three modules – each module has four units:

Module One – Introduction to the CEFR and a CEFR-aligned Framework for teaching English at tertiary level.

Module Two – Instructional resources that support CEFR-aligned courses.

Module Three – Language assessment.
